UK Tax Return Filing Deadlines to Change

It's tax return season again, with all of you hopefully gathering your information together to enable preparation of your UK tax return for 2006/07 by the deadline for submission of 31 January 2008.

For those of you who like to leave it to the last minute, be aware that the UK Revenue is about to move the filing deadline goalposts.

With effect from next year, the filing deadline for paper copy tax returns will be brought forward 3 months to 31 October. The deadline for those who file on-line will remain 31 January. Failure to meet these deadlines will result in a fine of up to £100.

Why not use 2006/07 as a dry run for pulling together your information a little earlier so that you are in the habit ready for the new deadlines in 2007/08?
